During the Bloody Valentine War, the Earth Alliance created the GAT-01A1 Dagger, a mass production version of the GAT-X105 Strike Gundam. Unlike the Alliance’s first mass production suit, the GAT-01 Strike Dagger, the Dagger series was compatible with the Strike Gundam’s Striker packs. The GAT-01A2R 105 Slaughter Dagger mounted the Aile flight pack by default. The 105 Slaughter Dagger featured most of the same armaments as the Dagger, but it carried a beam rifle instead of a machine gun. In addition to those standard armaments (which already included a pair of beam sabers), the Aile pack mounted two additional beam sabers. The 105 Slaughter Dagger was outfitted for use by the Alliance’s secret Phantom Pain unit. However, five units were given to the Orb Union following the signing of a security treaty between Orb and the Alliance in late C.E. 73. Their mission: pursue a group of Martian citizens on Earth. Although the units were piloted by Orb soldiers, they fell under the command of Phantom Pain pilot Sven Cal Bayang.
