The GN-006/SA Cherudim Gundam SAGA (Special Assault Gundam Arms) was a special equipment version of the GN-006 Cherudim Gundam. Designed by Ian Vashti, it was inspired by the Seven Swords concept of the GN-001 Gundam Exia and was codenamed “Seven Guns” during development. Ian kept the SAGA conversion parts to a minimum by making them mostly guns. To adapt to close-mid range combat, the suit was equipped with a crystal sensor in its head. The GN Shield Bits were removed due to being unsuited for combat in small areas and were replaced by a GN Small Shield. The GN Small Shield could be detached from the shoulder armor and held in hand. It could produce a GN Field for a short period of time. A sensor was located within the central crystal of the shield and could be used for searching for enemy units. With the GN Shield Bits no longer protecting the GN Drive, Ian added new armor to the sides of the drive and a GN Missile Container to protect its top section. Overall, the removal of parts made the SAGA configuration lighter than the standard Cherudim Gundam. The SAGA’s main armament was a GN Assault Carbine, capable of mid-range sniping. It was also armed with four front GN Missile Pods, a pair of GN Submachine Guns, a pair of GN Beam Pistol IIs and the same GN Beam Pistols type from the GN-002 Gundam Dynames.

After the final battle with the Innovators in 2312, Sherilyn Hyde repaired the heavily damaged Cherudim Gundam and converted it to the SAGA configuration for use by the recreated Fereshte. Because the damage to the Cherudim Gundam was so severe, it was not possible to restore the suit to its original performance levels. With no GN Drives available to Fereshte, the SAGA was converted to run on a GN Condenser. Because of the Earth Sphere Federation’s surveillance network and control of the orbital elevators, the SAGA was stationed only in space and assigned to Leo Sieg.
