The HWR-00-Mk.II Destroid Monster was a heavy weight robot manufactured by Viggers and Centinental for use by U.N. Spacy. Its design was similar to the HWR-00-Mk.IP Prototype Monster that was fielded during the Mayan conflict in 2008. Due to its massive size and limited mobility, the Monster acted more as a support artillery unit than a frontline one. The Monster’s main armament was four Viggers 40cm liquid-cooled cannons mounted on top of its body. The cannons could mount a variety of ammunition types, including reaction warheads. In place of arms, the Monster mounted two three-barrel Raitheon ground-to-ground missile launchers. Several Monsters were assigned to the Macross in 2009 and continued to see service after Space War I, with at least one becoming a private collector’s item on the Macross 7 fleet in 2045. Decades after its debut, the Monster design was revived as the variable bomber VB-6 König Monster, which saw use with both U.N. Spacy and the private military company SMS.
