Super Dimension Fortress Macross 2036 is a video game released exclusively in Japan for the NEC PC Engine/TurboGrafx-16 in 1992. Developed by Dual and published by Masaya, the game is a side-scrolling 2D shoot ’em up. Although Studio Nue was not involved in the game’s creation, Haruhiko Mikimoto created the game’s character designs. The game is set in 2036 in the alternate timeline from Super Dimension Fortress Macross II: Lovers, Again. The story focuses on Komilia Maria Fallyna Jenius, the daughter of the famed Space War I ace pilots, as she fights a new war against attacking Zentradi led by Kamjin Kravshera. The game was followed by the sequel Super Dimension Fortress Macross: Eternal Love Song.
