Super Dimension Fortress Macross II: Lovers, Again is an OVA series released in Japan in 1992. Produced to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Macross, it is a sequel to the 1984 film Super Dimension Fortress Macross: Do You Remember Love? Directed by Kenichi Yatagai and Ken’ichi Yatsuya, it features mechanical designs by Junichi Akutsu, Kazumi Fujita, Atsushi Okuda and Koichi Ohata, character designs by Haruhiko Mikimoto and a score by Shiro Sagisu. Set 80 years after the previous war, the story focuses on Hibiki Kanzaki, an SNN reporter who gets caught between two worlds when the alien Mardook threaten Earth. The series was initially released on home video in North America by U.S. Renditions and was later re-licensed by Manga Entertainment. At Anime Expo 2022, Big West announced that the series will be released on Blu-ray in North America by AnimEigo. In late 2023, AnimEigo unveiled a Kickstarter project for a planned 2024 release.
