Megazone 23 Part II is an OVA released in Japan in 1986 and is a continuation of Megazone 23 Part I. Ichiro Itano takes over as director on a team including mechanical designer Shinji Aramaki, character designer Yasuomi Umetsu (with guest work by Haruhiko Mikimoto) and composer Shiro Sagisu. The story focuses again on Shogo Yahagi, who joined the biker gang Trash after his defeat at the end of Part I. Shogo is again drawn to the Garland and pulled into the conflict between Megazone 23‘s military and their opponent, the mysterious Dezalg. Part II was previously released on home video in North America by ADV Films, but it has since been re-released by AnimEigo.
