In UC 0071, the Republic of Zeon conducted secret research to develop a humanoid mobile weapon on Side 3’s Dark Colony. Publicly, however, the machine was labeled a Mobile Worker with the intended use of lunar surface construction. The Mobile Worker Model 01 was a crude machine, featuring a glass panel cockpit and large fusion reactor mounted on the backpack that limited mobility. The Mobile Worker featured swappable forearm modules, and its right arm mounted a claw module rather than a standard human-type hand. Over the course of three years, the Mobile Worker design was refined in stages as the Early Type, Late Type and Final Type.
