The Omega Mecha was the prototype version of the unnamed Standard Mecha used by the terrorist group UNR (U.N. Resistance). While appearing to the public as an independent terrorist group, the UNR was a front for a cabal of military figures who planned to use the attacks to trigger martial law and initiate a coup d’état to seize control of U.N. Spacy. Developed by kidnapped U.N. Spacy mechanical engineers, the unit featured Zentradi design aesthetics, which was a deliberate decision to foment racial hatred between humans and micloned Zentradi. It was unknown if the Omega model could transform to a Fighter mode like the production version. Its armaments included an arm cannon and shoulder cannons. UNR pilot Zenta used the Omega model in a duel against her former lover Zara, a UNR dissident who decided to help reporter Hibiki Kanzaki expose the UNR conspiracy. The Omega model was heavily damaged, but Zenta survived and was hospitalized.
