The RCX-76-01A Guncannon Mobility Test Type was a prototype mobile suit developed by Anaheim Electronics for the Earth Federation Forces. The RCX-76-01A was created to conduct drive system tests and evaluate mobility performance. Its shoulder cannon was replaced by Gatling guns, and its head featured a V-fin that was later used in other mobile suits. In addition to the Gatling guns, the RCX-76-01A was armed with 60mm vulcan guns, a machine gun and a shield. Anaheim also tested firepower options in a sister unit, the RCX-76-01B Guncannon Firepower Test Type. Data collected from the evaluation units at Anaheim’s Von Braun factory on the Moon was incorporated into the development of the RCX-76-02 Guncannon First Type.
