During the Gryps Conflict of UC 0087-88, the Titans fielded the RMS-154 Barzam, a mobile suit well regarded for its performance. After the war, mobile suits associated with the Titans became a political problem, so with help from Buffo Aerodynamics and the NAMSD Labs, some Barzams were overhauled into the RGM-87 BR-GM. Following Char’s Rebellion in UC 0093, the BR-GM was redesigned into the Type C and then again later on as the RGM-87C2. The modernized Type C2 was upgraded with a reactor from the RGM-89J Jegan Type J. Its armaments included a beam rifle, beam saber, shield with missile launcher, hyper bazooka, and vulcan pod. In UC 0116, EFF pilot Gideon Blondin used a BR-GM during a battle at Side 2’s Amelia colony. The upgraded Type C2 was later deployed to rear line colonies during the First Oldsmobile War.
