The RX-78-lā-III Lah Gundam was a custom Gunpla built by Rio Hojo. It was based on the RX-78-2 Gundam from the 1979-80 anime TV series Mobile Suit Gundam. Rio, a Hawaiian with Japanese heritage, named his Gunpla for the Hawaiian word Lā (sun). As a newcomer to the Gundam Metaverse Project, Rio used an Entry Grade kit as the base for the Lah Gundam, and he made some modifications to the shoulders, waist and knees to get the most out of the kit. A prototype version featured a different color scheme, and the final version sported additional modifications and a new color scheme. Its armaments included a pair of vulcan guns, a beam lā rifle, a beam lā shield and a pair of beam lā naginata that could combine. Rio, who assembled his Gunpla and practiced combat under Seria Urutsuki, joined the Gundam Metaverse Project and encountered many famous players. Ultimately, he participated in a large-scale raid battle and fought against Seria’s estranged sister Maria, who under the alias Mascarilla piloted the Typhoeus Gundam.
