The RX-80PR Pale Rider was a prototype mobile suit used by the Earth Federation Forces during the One Year War in UC 0079. Based on the RGM-79SP GM Sniper II, the RX-80 prototype was acquired by an EFF official named Grave, who wanted a mobile suit to test the HADES (Hyper Animosity Detect Estimate System) as part of the Pale Rider Project. Developed by the Augusta Research Institute, HADES was based on the EXAM System used by the Blue Destiny mobile suits. HADES increased performance by disabling all limiters, and it could either transmit optimal maneuvers to the pilot or forcibly take control. It could also attempt to read an enemy’s movements by detecting psycommu waves. The modified mobile suit was redesignated RX-80PR and named for one of the Biblical Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. The Pale Rider’s standard armaments included two beam sabers, head vulcans, a pair of beam guns and a machine gun. Optional weapons included a machine gun, 180mm cannon, leg missile pods, a spike shield, a hyper beam rifle, a shield and a giant Gatling gun. After suffering heavy damage at the end of the war, the Pale Rider was recovered by Zeon remnants and fielded a decade later by Neo Zeon as the upgraded AMX-018[HADES] Todesritter.
