The SPT-BD-03U Buldy was an artillery super powered tracer developed by the Gradosian Empire. The Buldy was capable of functioning in multiple environments, including on the ground and in space. The Buldy’s armaments included a standard lasered gun and knuckle shots, along with a backpack-mounted energy gun. In October 1996, Eiji Asuka stole three SPTs as part of his mission to warn Earth of an impending Gradosian invasion: Buldy, SPT-BB-02U Baybull and SPT-LZ-00X Layzner. During a fight with Gosterro’s SPT-BG-91U Bullgrenn, Layzner ran low on energy, forcing Eiji to use Buldy to finish the fight. When the Gradosian forces proved too much for Eiji to handle alone, Earth teenager Roanne Demitrich stepped in to help by piloting the Buldy. The Buldy served as Roanne’s personal SPT for the journey back to Earth, although it was briefly seized by the U.S. military upon his return. The Buldy was heavily damaged during the invasion and recovered by the Gradosians, who fully repaired it. However, Roanne never piloted the Buldy again after choosing to infiltrate the ranks of the Gradosian occupation forces as a double agent.
