The STTS/F-400 Murasame Kai was a transformable mobile suit fielded by the global peacekeeping agency Compass in C.E. 75. The Murasame Kai, which served as the Orb Union’s main mass production mobile suit, was based on their older MVF-M11C Murasame. As one of the governments supporting Compass, Orb provided multiple Murasame Kai units to the global peacekeeping agency. The Murasame Kai’s transformation system and shape were updated – most notably, the Murasame Kai’s wings were swept back compared to the original. The Murasame Kai’s armaments included CIWS guns, a beam saber, beam rifle, a beam cannon and various types of missiles. Ace pilot Mu La Flaga of the Compass battleship Archangel used a specially tuned Murasame Kai that maximized performance and had reduced safety margins compared to the standard version. In C.E. 75, Mu’s Murasame Kai was heavily damaged in a conflict with the Kingdom of Foundation, and he later switched back to using his previous suit, the ORB-01 Akatsuki Gundam.
