The VF-19A Excalibur was the first production version of the YF-19, the prototype fighter developed by Shinsei Industry and selected in 2041 by U.N. Spacy as its main fourth generation fighter to replace the aging VF-11B Thunderbolt. The VF-19A’s design was mostly the same as the YF-19, although it featured improved engines and replaced the converging energy cannons with laser cannons and the anti-aircraft laser gun with a beam gun. By 2047, the VF-19A was in service with U.N. Spacy’s VF-X Ravens team.
