Macross Digital Mission VF-X is a video game released exclusively in Japan for the Sony PlayStation 1 in 1996. Developed by UNiT Inc and published by Bandai Visual, this 3D action game features an opening movie directed by Ichiro Itano, mechanical designs by Shoji Kawamori Kazutaka Miyatake, plus character designs by Haruhiko Mikimoto. Set in 2047, the story focuses on the VF-X Ravens, a U.N. Spacy variable fighter team dispatched on a mission to rescue the Milky Dolls idol group from rogue Zentradi. The game was followed three years later by a sequel, Macross VF-X2.
