Macross VF-X2 is a video game released exclusively in Japan for the Sony PlayStation 1 in 1999. It is the sequel to the 1996 PS1 game Macross Digital Mission VF-X. Developed by UNiT Inc and published by Bandai Visual, this 3D action game features an opening movie directed by Ichiro Itano, mechanical designs by Shoji Kawamori Kazutaka Miyatake, plus character designs by Haruhiko Mikimoto. Set in 2050, the story focuses on the VF-X Ravens team and introduces Capt. Aegis Focker. The game features a branching patch as Focker undertakes various missions and discovers a conspiracy within U.N. Spacy. A planned North American release of the game was canceled, although a translated version of the first mission was included on a demo disc packaged with the Official U.S. PlayStation Magazine.
