In order to stop the Jupiter Empire from attacking the Earth with their Zeus’ Thunderbolt colony laser, the XM-X1 Crossbone Gundam X-1 Skull Heart was completely renovated by SNRI. The end result was a machine that could, but for its lack of remote weapons, be considered the ultimate mobile suit. To achieve this, SNRI had to use all the remaining Crossbone Gundam spare parts, as this was literally a “do or die” mission. The new armor covering the Full Cloth’s body was overlain on a framework of thrusters that allowed it to achieve explosive acceleration, while also using all the remaining ABC mantle technology, giving it exceptional beam defense. At Tobia Arronax’s suggestion, the two skull head units on the shoulders each mounted a pair of I-field generators identical to the XM-X3 Crossbone Gundam X-3‘s, which if used effectively granted the Full Cloth total protection from enemy beam attacks. The skull head units could also be worn as gigantic boxing gloves, with the I-fields serving to protect the Full Cloth while it attacked. The original design draft featured an extra heat cutter stored in the armor, but it remained unclear if this was retained in the final version.
