Technical and Historical Notes

The ZGMF-X191M2 Infinite Justice Gundam Type II was a mobile suit fielded by the intelligence organization Terminal in C.E. 75. It was an upgraded version of the ZGMF-X19A Infinite Justice Gundam piloted by Athrun Zala during the Second Bloody Valentine War. The Infinite Justice was upgraded by Erica Simmons of Morgenroete, Inc. at the request of Cagalli Yula Athha and was initially used to test the AMGS-X18P Cavalier Aifrid support craft. The Type II’s biggest upgrade was its M2X32E Volantes wings that replaced the Fatum-01 backpack/sub-flight lifter. The X-shaped Volantes wings not only increased the suit’s mobility, but they could also function as a separate attack unit. The Type II was also equipped with the same new panoramic cockpit as the ZGMF/A-262B Strike Freedom Gundam Type II. Its armaments were also upgraded and included a beam rifle, CIWS guns, beam sabers, a beam horn, beam cutting legs, a carrier beam shield (with a beam boomerang and a grapple stinger) and a prototype advanced railgun. The Volantes’ armaments included beam cannons, missile launchers and beam risers, which could function as beam guns or cutters. Because Athrun was conducting clandestine surveillance on the Kingdom of Foundation, the Type II was initially disguised with an outer shell as the ZGMF-MM07 Z’Gok, with the Volantes mounted on the Cavalier Aifrid. Athrun joined his friends from Compass in their assault against Foundation and helped to destroy the Moon-based cannon Requiem.
