The Dodai Custom was a sub-flight system that made its debut during the Gryps War in UC 0087. Its design was inspired by the Principality of Zeon’s YS-11 Dodai YS from the One Year War. The Dodai Custom could function as an unmanned unit controlled by the mobile suit riding it, but it could also be piloted from within the cockpit located in its forward section. Introduced by the AEUG, the Dodai Custom was also used by its ground-based sister organization Karaba, as well as by Neo Zeon. During the First Neo Zeon War in UC 0088, Karaba leader Hayato Kobayashi was killed while flying a Dodai Custom in combat. The Dodai Custom remained in use as late as UC 120 with the Mars-based Zeon remnants known as the Oldsmobile Army.
