The FF-X7Bst Core Booster was developed during the One Year War in order to allow the FF-X7 Core Fighter to function as a support fighter. Although it was originally unable to dock with a mobile suit, its mobility drew the attention of the engineers who designed the FF-XII-Bst Core Booster II. However, since it proved too difficult to control the machine in this form, the idea was abandoned after being used in the RX-78GP00 Gundam GP00 Blossom.
