The GN-005/PH Gundam Virtue Physical was an alternate configuration of the GN-005 Gundam Virtue created by Veda that focused on physical attacks, carrying mostly projectile weapons and fewer beam weapons. The Virtue Particle, with its focus on GN-based beam weapons, was later selected as the standard configuration. The Virtue Physical’s armaments included a GN Physical Bazooka, a GN Beam Cannon, a GN Beam Saber, two GN Panzer Fausts and GN Missile Containers. Both incarnations of the Gundam Virtue were intended for anti-fortress/fleet ranged attacks. Initially, engineers backed the Virtue Physical configuration because the GN Condensers needed further improvement to handle the high particle consumption of the GN Field. They also favored it because the Union, AEU and HRL lacked beam weapons at the time that Celestial Being’s armed interventions were slated to begin. However, combat practice involving the four Gundam Meisters led Veda to conclude that the Particle configuration was most beneficial to the team. Veda rejected the suggestion to keep the Physical equipment as an alternate configuration for the Gundam Virtue due to manpower constraints and the design of the Ptolemaios making a mid-battle conversion difficult. In addition, Veda did not want an enemy observing the common parts between both versions and risking the exposure of the secret GN-004 Gundam Nadleeh.
