The GNW-001 Gundam Throne Eins could utilize the hs-T01 Turbulenz equipment to achieve higher mobility and transform into a flight mode similar to the GN-003 Gundam Kyrios. Because of the differences in each Gundam Throne unit, there were plans to create Turbulenz versions for the GNW-002 Gundam Throne Zwei and GNW-003 Gundam Throne Drei, but the only one ever completed was the Throne Eins version. An additional GN Drive Tau was installed in the Turbulenz, which both extended the suit’s operating time and ensured that it had sufficient GN particles for combat after consuming a large amount of particles during high-speed travel. It also allowed the Turbulenz equipment to separate and function as an unmanned support unit once the suit reached the battlefield. It was thought that the Turbulenz equipment was designed to allow the Gundam Thrones to conduct missions independently in faraway areas. Hence, the combination of long distance travelling capability and support unit function in a single piece of equipment.

A pair of GN Beam Sabers, which were of the same model as those on the Throne Eins, were stored in each of the shoulder-mounted Turbulenz parts. The GN Blaster replaced the Throne Eins’ GN Launcher as the suit’s main weapon, and although its firepower was comparable to the latter, it could not be used as the GN High Mega Launcher. The GN Missile Containers were mounted on the mobile suit mode’s back (on the top in flight mode), and were especially effective in anti-air combat. Throne Drei’s version had the GN Missile Containers replaced by stealth field generator. The GN Fang Containers also contained the Turbulenz equipment’s main thrusters, and were only filled with GN Fangs when the equipment was used by Throne Zwei. Throne Eins’ Turbulenz equipment was only used in several combat exercises and never formally deployed.
