The HT-01B Magella Attack served as the Principality of Zeon’s main battle tank on Earth. Its armaments included a 175mm main cannon, plus a 3-barrel 35mm machine gun. Compared to its Earth Federation Forces counterpart, the Type 61 Tank, the Magella Attack included a unique feature: its main cannon and cockpit could separate from the base unit and fly on their own. This allowed a pilot to continue fighting if the base tank unit was destroyed. Although the Magella Attack proved less useful against mobile suits, even its main cannon could be deadly at extreme close range. Magella Attacks were deployed throughout Earth. Zeon field engineers also adapted the cannon into a handheld weapon usable by mobile suits, and the Magella Attack’s tank base was combined with a mobile suit torso to create the MS-06V Zaku Tank.
