Macross Delta Gaiden: Macross E is a manga series published from 2016-17 in Japan. Written by Shoji Kawamori and illustrated by Kei Ichimonji, it was serialized in Kodansha Magazine Special. The manga is a prequel to the 2016 TV series Macross Delta. Set in 2062, the story focuses on the private military company Xaos and its experimental musical idol group Thrones, which are working to counter Var Syndrome. The manga stars Kite Kinjo, a rookie pilot in Xaos’ Echo Flight that is teamed with Thrones. It has not been officially released in English.
