Morgenroete developed the EW454F Ootori Striker pack alongside the MBF-02 Strike Rouge that entered service during the First Bloody Valentine War in C.E. 73. However, the Ootori Striker’s power consumption was too high, so the Strike Rouge was deployed instead with the AQM/E-X01 Aile Striker pack. Morgenroete later acquired data on PMP’s P202QX IWSP (Integrated Weapons Striker Pack) and its power source to develop a new power extender. This power extender allowed the Ootori Striker to be usable for combat. Like the IWSP, the Ootori Striker combined elements of multiple Striker packs, including a railgun, a beam launcher, and a large anti-ship sword. The Ootori Striker also mounted six small missiles and carried a missile launcher that could be swapped out for a Gatling gun or electronic warfare equipment. Eventually, the technology behind the Ootori Striker made its way into the hands of the Earth Alliance and ZAFT, allowing them to improve the operational time of their mobile suits and develop new technologies like Variable Phase Shift (VPS) armor.
