The MS-17 Galbaldy α was a part of Zeon’s Pezun Project at the Pezun asteroid base at the end of the One Year War. It was originally built as a successor to the YMS-15 Gyan but was later fitted with equipment from the MS-14A Gelgoog. This was to be Zeon’s ultimate mobile suit, but it was just another case of too little, too late. The Galbaldy’s armament consisted of one beam rifle and a beam saber. It was also given a smaller version of the Gelgoog’s shield. Due to its late entry into the war it presumably never saw combat. However, some units might have seen combat during the Earth Federation Forces’ retaking of the Pezun asteroid. At the end of the One Year War the EFF captured the plans of this fearful suit and later refined and upgraded it into their own RMS-117 Galbaldy β, which saw combat before and during the Gryps War. Additionally, the Zeon remnants who escaped to Axis after the war modified multiple Galbaldy units into the MS-17R Galbaldy α High Mobility Type.

Some Fan Art I made back in 2018 of my favorite Mobile Suit from Gundam. Still love the one-eyed design, stands out and still looks great. I've also included some process. #gundam #zaku #mobilesuit
