Newtype magazine has been connected to Gundam since its publication started in 1985. Debuting alongside the original broadcast of the TV series Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam, the magazine is named for Gundam’s Newtypes. Throughout the years, the magazine has featured Gundam variations and original designs from industry professionals like Mamoru Nagano and CLAMP. An English language version of the magazine titled Newtype USA was produced from 2002-2008.
