The pinnacle of Zeon Newtype-use mobile weapon technology at its time, the NZ-000 Queen Mansa was considered one of the most powerful mobile weapons ever constructed. Designed and constructed by Neo Zeon’s Glemy Toto faction during the First Neo Zeon War, the Queen Mansa combined the best features of the successful AMX-004 Qubeley series and the Titans’ MRX-010 Psycho Gundam Mk-II into one design. This massive mobile suit was armed with a wide variety of mega particle cannons, and carried 30 psycommu-controlled funnels in a large tail binder. The large binders on its shoulders housed a variant of the I-field barrier concept called a mega particle deflection system, which not only absorbed or deflected incoming beam weapons fire like a standard I-field, but could also redirect that beam fire back at the foe that fired it. Like the AMX-004-3 Qubeley Mk-II, the Queen Mansa could be controlled externally via a psycommu controller headset worn by the pilot, and like the Psycho Gundam Mk-II (and even the old Principality of Zeon’s MSN-02 Zeong), the Queen Mansa’s head could detach and operate independently if the main body was heavily damaged and destroyed.
The first Queen Mansa unit was operated by Glemy’s young pet Newtype soldier Ple Two. It was fielded against Neo Zeon leader Haman Karn’s loyalist forces during Glemy’s insurrection in January UC 0089. However, the Queen Mansa – along with Glemy Toto – were soon destroyed inside the asteroid base Axis by the AEUG’s Gundam Team. In UC 0090, remnants of the Glemy faction fielded a reconstructed version piloted by Newtype Annerose Rosenheim. Later Neo Zeon factions continued to develop large-scale Newtype weapons, including the NZ-333 α-Azieru from the Char’s Rebellion in UC 0093, plus the NZ-666 Kshatriya and NZ-999 Neo Zeong from the Laplace Incident in UC 0096.
