The RX-104FF Penelope was a transformable mobile suit developed by Anaheim Electronics for the Earth Federation Forces in UC 0105. It was formed by equipping the RX-104 Odysseus Gundam with a FF (Fixed Flight) Unit for independent flight on Earth. The FF Unit was mounted on the Odysseus Gundam’s torso, shoulders, hips and legs, and its nose was equipped with various sensors. The Penelope could transform into a Flight Form and deploy a beam barrier in its direction of movement to achieve supersonic flight. The Penelope’s armaments included a beam rifle, a pair of forearm-mounted composite weapons units (with mega particle cannons, beam sabers and missiles), vulcan guns, mega particle cannons/beam sabers and 34 funnel missiles. In late April UC 0105, the Penelope was assigned to test pilot Lane Aim of the Circe Unit under the command of Kenneth Sleg, who was tasked with pursuing the anti-Federation military group Mafty. The Penelope made its combat debut against Mafty forces in a battle at the Philippine city Davao. Later, the Penelope engaged in a midair duel against Hathaway Noa’s RX-105 Ξ Gundam, which ended with Hathaway getting the upper hand and Lane crashing the Penelope in the ocean.
