By the year CC 2345, Earth had become a world devoid of advanced technology like spaceships or mobile suits. That changed when advance forces from the Moonrace’s Dianna Counter arrived on Earth to begin colonization. Outside the Inglessa capital city Nocis, youngsters held a Coming of Age ceremony where they danced and offer prayers in front of the White Doll statue. During the Coming of Age ceremony for Loran Cehack and Sochie Heim, the Dianna Counter forces attacked Nocis. The White Doll statue crumbled during the attack, revealing a fully operational mobile suit, the System-∀99 ∀ Gundam. Unsure of how to control it, Loran could do nothing when the Turn A automatically fired its beam rifle at the Dianna Counter forces, which were totally unaware of mobile suits being present on Earth.

After several battles, the White Doll became the symbol for the Inglessa Militia and its chief source of military power during the excavation of more mobile suits. Loran first became aware of the Turn A’s past when he encountered mentally unstable Moonrace pilot Corin Nander, who referred to it as a Gundam. Loran discovered more when assassin Teteth Halleh identified the suit as Turn A. The Turn A’s main propulsion was provided by an I-field Beam Drive System, which left the suit completely hollow and allowed it to be filled with extra armaments and rocket thrusters. The Turn A also utilized an advanced nanotech self-repair system. Standard armament consisted of two beam sabers and a beam rifle. The Turn A was even equipped with an anti-nuclear barrier that protected it from nuclear weapons. When the Willghem began the journey for the Moon, Loran encountered the primitive Adesca tribe, which believed that the Turn A marked the end of their history. It was on the Moon that Loran finally learned the terrible truth behind the Turn A’s history.

As revealed by Gym Ghingnham and archived footage of the Black History, the Turn A was responsible for the destruction of Earth’s civilization. Built by an unknown party, the Turn A employed the Moonlight Butterfly system, a powerful attack that unleashed nanomachines across the world and destroyed civilization. According the Gym, the Turn A was the brother unit to his own Concept-X 6-1-2 Turn X, which was excavated from a Moon mountain cycle. After learning the truth about the Turn A, Loran discovered several new features, most noticeably a Core Fighter, which was actually the cockpit and front skirt armor. Other features included the ability to disappear from visual sight by unknown means. Loran was forced to temporarily abandon the Turn A, which was captured by Gym’s forces and fitted with the cockpit from an MRC-F20 Sumo. The Turn A and Turn X later had their final showdown on Earth, where both suits activated their Moonlight Butterfly systems and were encased in a large cocoon- along with Gym himself.
