Mobile Suit Victory Gundam is a TV series that aired in Japan from 1993-1994. Franchise creator Yoshiyuki Tomino helmed the series, with other staff including mechanical designers Hajime Katoki, Kunio Okawara and Junya Ishigaki, character designer Hiroshi Osaka and composer Akira Senju. Set in UC 0153, the series documents the Earth Federation sliding further into irrelevancy as a new threat arises from the space-based Zanscare Empire. Teenager Uso Ewin is pulled into the conflict and becomes a mobile suit pilot for the League Militaire, a paramilitary group attempting to halt the ambitions of the Zanscare Empire. Following the conclusion of the series in 1994, Sunrise took the franchise in a dramatically different direction with the creation of Mobile Fighter G Gundam, the first alternate universe Gundam series. The series has been released on home video in North America by Nozomi Entertainment.
