As a part of ZAFT’s New Millennium series mobile suits, the ZGMF-1001 ZAKU Phantom could be outfitted with various Wizard packs to operate in different mission roles. One such configuration was the ZGMF-1001/K Slash ZAKU Phantom. While the Blaze Wizard pack featured extra thrusters and a pair of missile containers, the Slash Wizard pack included a pair of “Hydra” Gatling beam cannons. The Slash ZAKU Phantom was also armed with a beam axe, which was stored on its backpack. A blue custom painted Slash ZAKU Phantom was used by Yzak Joule during ZAFT’s attempt to stop a group of disaffected Coordinator terrorists from dropping the remains of Junius Seven on Earth in October C.E. 73. Following the Break the World incident and the outbreak of the Second Bloody Valentine War, Yzak led mobile suit forces into battle to protect the PLANTs from the Earth Alliance’s nuclear assaults.
