The ASW-G-XX Gundam Vidar was a mobile suit piloted by the mysterious masked man Vidar, who allied himself with Rustal Elion. In actuality, Vidar was Gaelio Bauduin, who was presumed dead after a mobile suit battle with his former friend, McGillis Fareed. The Gundam Vidar itself was likewise a disguised version of Gaelio’s ASW-G-66 Gundam Kimaris. In addition to a complete armor and weapons overhaul from the intermediate prototype ASW-G-XK XK, the completed Gundam Vidar mounted a third Ahab reactor to disguise the Gundam Kimaris’ energy signature. The Gundam Vidar featured the innovative Alaya-Vijnana System Type E, which used the remains of Ein Dalton’s brain as a support system that connected to Gaelio’s neck. Due to Gaelio lacking Alaya-Vijnana implants, this system gave the Gundam Vidar the same performance as Tekkadan’s Gundams, whose pilots did have the implants. The Gundam Vidar’s armaments included two handguns, a 110mm rifle and four hunter’s edge blades mounted in the feet tips and heels. Its main weapon, a burst saber, featured a detachable blade that could be used as an explosive. Several replacement blades were stored in the suit’s skirt armor. After McGillis began his rebellion against Gjallarhorn, Gaelio publicly revealed himself and McGillis’ past treachery. The Gundam Vidar was then reconfigured once more as the Gundam Kimaris Vidar.
