Following the devastation of Space War I, U.N. Spacy began mass producing the original Macross as the SDFN line. The SDFN ships were identical to the original Macross‘ 2012 refit configuration and retained its transformation functions. These ships were often deployed as advance scouts to secure routes for long-distance colonization fleets. One such ship was the Bruno J. Global, named after the captain of the first Macross. The Global’s armaments were the same as the first Macross and included a super dimension energy cannon, converging beam cannons, electromagnetic rail cannons, anti-ship missile launchers and missile emplacements. In 2048, the Global served as the flagship of the 117th Research Fleet, which was studying alien lifeforms known as the Vajra. The Global and the rest of the fleet were destroyed in 2048 after encountering hostile Vajra, but this information was suppressed by NUNS with the cover story that the fleet was lost to a fold navigation accident. The Global crashed on Gallia 4 and became a Vajra nest until it was fully destroyed shortly after its rediscovery in 2059.
