After the JDG-00X Devil Gundam escaped from Tokyo, Domon Kasshu traveled to the Guiana Highlands to train and improve his martial arts skills to fight his former master. Unbeknownst to him, he was followed by Master Asia and the Devil Gundam. When Master Asia revealed himself, he came with a massive army consisting of Death Army, Death Birdy and Death Navy mobile suits. The Death Birdy was essentially an airborne variant of the Death Army. It could fly high for overhead attacks with its claw arm beam cannons, but it could also release the Death Army suit docked inside it for ground combat.
