Due to the critical role played by mobile suits in the Bloody Valentine War, the Earth Alliance constructed a second Archangel class mobile suit carrier, the Dominion. The design of the Dominion was nearly identical to that of the original Archangel, with the exception of an improved radar system and different color scheme. The Dominion entered service in late June C.E. 71, launching from the Alliance’s Ptolemaeus lunar base. Serving as captain was former Archangel second officer Natarle Badgiruel, who was charged with hunting down her former captain, Murrue Ramius. Accompanying her (and frequently overriding her authority) was Multa Azrael, the head of the Azrael Conglomerate military contractor. As the leader of the anti-Coordinator group Blue Cosmos, Azrael had his own agenda aboard the ship to wipe out all Coordinators. The Dominion‘s mobile suit complement included the mass production mobile suit GAT-01 Strike Dagger, along with with three new prototype Gundams brought aboard by Azrael. On September 27, Natarle finally stood up to Azrael and was shot by him several times for her defiance. Soon after, the Dominion was destroyed by the Archangel just before the end of the Bloody Valentine War.
