The EB-04 Geirail was a general purpose mass production mobile suit developed by Gjallarhorn. The Geirail was based on the V08-1228 Grimgerde that was created during the Calamity War. Eventually, the Geirail was replaced by a successor model, the EB-06 Graze Standard Type. After the Geirail was removed from service, it was only seen in limited deployment or in the teaching materials at mobile suit training schools. In the P.D. 320s, a Geirail was modified for use by Galan Mossa, a mercenary who secretly worked for Rustal Elion, the leader of one of Gjallarhorn’s Seven Stars families. This unit had its internal parts and Ahab wave frequency modified to disguise its origin as a Gjallarhorn suit. It was equipped with a hover unit for increased mobility in ground combat. Its armaments included a 110mm rifle and a shield-axe, which could mount on the forearm as a shield or handheld as an axe. Acting on Rustal’s orders, Galan worked to foment war between Arbrau and the Strategic Alliance Union. After being defeated by Akihiro Altland’s ASW-G-11 Gundam Gusion Rebake Full City, Galan self-destructed his Geirail, but Akihiro’s suit survived the blast.
