The Einstein was a multipurpose scientific research vessel in the Macross 7 long-distance emigration fleet. Named after 20th century German physicist Albert Einstein, the ship was used by the United Science Foundation and featured advanced facilities that mainly focused on the areas of astrophysics, space biology and gravitational engineering. The ship was also used for prototype product development. As a civilian ship, the Einstein was unarmed and relied on a docked Uraga class space carrier for its defenses. In late 2045, the Einstein was key to studying data gathered at Protoculture ruins on planet Rax prior to the planet’s destruction.
