Neo England’s GF13-003NEL John Bull Gundam was a suit built for a champion. Gentle Chapman consecutively won the 9th through 11th Gundam Fights, which gave Neo England control over the United Colonies Federation from FC 40 through FC 56. Chapman’s three-time winning streak ended when he was defeated in FC 56 during the 12th Gundam Fight by Master Asia. While the John Bull Gundam was equipped with the standard complement of head vulcans and machine cannons, it was designed to take full advantage of Chapman’s sharpshooting skills to bring him back on the path to victory. Its main weapon was a powerful long beam rifle that Chapman could use to accurately snipe his enemy from a distance.
Despite his skills and his previous victories, Chapman’s body took a beating from his many battles, and as a result he became addicted to stimulants to keep him in focus. His wife Manon decided to secretly help him by cheating during Gundam Fights. She set up an elaborate system of fog machines and used remote-controlled NET6-MS Cushing mobile suits to wear down enemies so that Chapman could finish them off. Neo France’s George de Sand was defeated in such a manner, and he warned Neo Japan’s Domon Kasshu of the danger. During a battle with Chapman, Domon’s GF13-017NJ Shining Gundam nearly fell victim to the same tactics, but Domon was assisted by George and able to defeat Chapman. Despite being disqualified by losing his Gundam’s head, Chapman was later allowed to enter the Gundam Fight Finals with another disqualified Fighter, Neo Italy’s Michelo Chariot. By this time Chapman had become a mindless minion of the JDG-00X Devil Gundam, and his John Bull Gundam could transform into the enormous Grand Gundam, which became a menace to both Domon and George.
