The Ginga was a space shuttle used by the Earth Federation Forces during the One Year War. Disguised as passenger shuttle, the Ginga carried top secret cargo: the special Newtype-use RX-78NT-1 Gundam NT-1 Alex. In December UC 0079, Zeon’s Cyclops team attacked the EFF’s Antarctica Base where the Alex was under development. However, the EFF was able to successfully load the Alex onto the Ginga and launched it into space. The Ginga transported the Alex to the neutral Libot Colony in Side 6, where the suit’s development continued in secret.
