Following the Bloody Valentine War, the Earth Alliance’s secret Phantom Pain unit developed a new battleship design, the Girty Lue class. The Junius Treaty of C.E. 72 explicitly forbade the use of Mirage Colloid cloaking technology, but the namesake Girty Lue was equipped with Mirage Colloid anyway. The ship was armed with six “Gottfried” beam cannons, 16 “Igelstellung” CIWS guns and more than three dozen missile launchers. As part of Phantom Pain, the Girty Lue operated covertly and answered directly to Logos leader Lord Djibril. On October 2, C.E. 73, the Girty Lue launched a sneak attack on ZAFT’s Armory One military PLANT. In conjunction with the attack, three of the Alliance’s artificially enhanced Extended pilots stole three of ZAFT’s latest prototype Gundams. The Girty Lue was subsequently pursued by ZAFT’s new flagship, the Minerva. The Minerva was forced to halt its pursuit when a group of extremist Coordinators began moving the ruins of Junius Seven to drop it on Earth. However, the Girty Lue interfered and sent out its Gundams to prevent ZAFT’s attempt to destroy the PLANT. Following the Break the World incident, the Girty Lue remained in space for many months during the Second Bloody Valentine War. In early C.E. 74, the Girty Lue was destroyed by Rey Za Burrel’s ZGMF-X666S Legend Gundam when Djibril attempted to escape from the Alliance’s Daedalus lunar base during a ZAFT assault.
