The GNX-704T/AC Ahead Sakigake was a variant of the GNX-704T Ahead, used exclusively by Mr. Bushido (aka Graham Aker). Officially, the unit was known as the Ahead Close Combat Type, with “Sakigake” being its development code name. The Sakigake featured enhanced chest and shoulder armor, and its GN Tau Drive had a higher output than the standard Ahead. The Sakigake was customized for close combat as per Mr. Bushido’s instructions and thus featured almost no firearms. The Sakigake’s main armament was the GN Beam Saber, a large weapon meant to held in both hands and had high destructive power. Due to its high particle consumption, the saber could be quickly recharged by a GN Condenser mounted on the GN Shield. A retractable cable from the rear of the head was used to supply energy to equipment, but the GN Beam Saber did not use this cable as it could hinder movement. The GN Short Beam Saber had a short operating time due to its size, but it was as powerful as normal beam sabers. The pair of GN Short Beam Cannons were smaller than a GN Beam Rifle and had lower power, but a higher rate of fire. They were typically used to restrict enemy movement in close combat. Mr. Bushido used the Sakigake in multiple battles against Celestial Being before switching to the GNX-U02X Masurao.
