The Gray Phantom was a Pegasus class assault carrier constructed by the Earth Federation Forces in UC 0079. Like other ships of its class, it was constructed from multiple blocks, including living quarters that featured an artificial gravity area. Differences in construction resulted in some Pegasus ships having radically different appearances. The Gray Phantom also utilized a Minovsky craft system, which allowed it to fly at low altitudes on Earth and escape unassisted from the planet’s atmosphere. On December 19, UC 0079, the Gray Phantom was dispatched inside Side 6’s Libot Colony to respond to an attack by Zeon’s Cyclops team. An MS-18E Kämpfer wiped out the Gray Phantom‘s Scarlet team before being destroyed by the prototype RX-78NT-1 Gundam NT-1 Alex. In November UC 0083, the Gray Phantom participated in the EFF naval review at Confeito, which suffered a nuclear attack perpetrated by Zeon ace Anavel Gato and the stolen RX-78GP02A Gundam GP02A Physalis. The ship survived the attack, but at an unknown later time it crashed on Earth. Its wreckage served as a base for Zeon remnants that launched an attack on Australia’s Torrington Base in UC 0096.
