Gundam ZZ Ep. 46: Vibration

Summary

The Gylens tell Chara that they can’t resist Glemy’s Newtype Corps, but Chara insists on fighting. Her Geymalk attacks the Queen Mansa head on, and both deploy their funnels that destroy each other. Judau tells Chara to retreat, and she agrees. Elle asks what they should do, and he decides to return to the Nahel Argama to plan their next move. On the Moon, Bright meets with Sayla and Leina. Sayla gives him a letter from Mirai and Hathaway and tells him he should write back. She asks him if there’s any information on Char, and he says there hasn’t been time to look for him. Sayla thinks he is watching from the sidelines and waiting for an opportunity to step in. She worries about his ambitions and fears that his death may be the only solution. Ple Two randomly shoots at things, and Glemy separates Moussa from Axis to slam it into Haman’s fleet. Haman has the fleet separate to avoid being hit by Moussa. Judau launches in the Full Armor ZZ Gundam, followed by the rest of the Gundam Team. Judau arrives while Ple Two and Chara fight, and Rakan attacks out of nowhere and destroys Lance’s Gaz-L. Judau fires his new missiles at Rakan, but they turn out to not be too effective. Rakan wants help from Ple Two, but the image of Ple tells Ple Two that Judau isn’t their enemy. Judau fires more missiles at the Doven Wolf and fires his double beam rifle to disable it. He then pulls out his hyper beam saber and slices the Doven Wolf apart. Moussa passes over the Sadalahn and grazes the surface of Core 3, destroying the agricultural ring. Glemy activates the nuclear pulse engines on Axis to have it slam into Core 3. Judau goes into Axis after Ple Two and is followed by Roux in the Zeta Gundam and Elle in the Gundam Mk-II.

Haman feels that Judau has entered Axis, and she orders spies to go inside Axis and change its orientation. Ple Two enters the streets of Axis and flies to Glemy’s base. He asks her why she has come, and she says that Ple is in her mind. Glemy assures her that Ple is long dead and was cheated by Judau. He tells her that if she destroys the Gundams it will end the pain she is feeling in her head. He gets into the Queen Mansa to help her pilot it. Roux approaches in the Zeta Gundam, and Ple Two deploys funnels against her. As Roux navigates through the tight streets of Axis, the funnels blow off the Zeta Gundam’s left arm and part of its head. Elle rushes in to help Roux, and Ple Two fires at her and disables the Mk II. Ple Two is about to kill Elle when Judau arrives and tells her to stop. They both get out of their cockpits, and Judau asks Ple Two if she wants to be Glemy’s puppet. Glemy tells Judau that he fights with a heart of justice and asks him what his reasons are. The voice of Kamille tells him he is fighting because of the anger he feels inside, and Judau also hears the voices of Fa, Leina and Ple. Judau says he is fighting with everyone’s will, and he tells Glemy that the Earth is polluted and he should stay in Axis. As he speaks, people all across space hear Judau’s voice. Ple Two starts shooting, and Judau fires missiles and approaches the Queen Mansa. Ple’s voice tells Ple Two to get out, and she jumps into ZZ Gundam’s hand. Roux fires her beam rifle at the Queen Mansa and kills Glemy. A spy reports to Haman that Axis’ navigation systems are damaged. Axis slams into Core 3 and severely damages the colony. Beecha and the others on the Nahel Argama wonder if Judau can escape safely. As parts of Axis explode, Judau escapes with Elle, Roux and Ple Two in his cockpit.

Commentary

As the series approaches the end, the fighting becomes fiercer. Rakan, Lance and Glemy all bite the dust this time. We get to see Bright again after a while, along with Sayla. Their conversation about Char seems to hint at what will happen shortly down the road in Char’s Counterattack. The internal conflict in Ple Two finally reaches a boiling point, and she finally gives in to Ple. The Zeta Gundam and Mk II also see their last bits of combat after having survived so many battles. Those two suits saw a lot of action, and it’s a shame to see them destroyed so easily right at the end. However, at least Roux killed Glemy before the Zeta Gundam’s destruction. The Neo Zeon rebellion may be over, but Haman is still around, and she will most certainly have a final showdown with Judau.
