During the One Year War, the Principality of Zeon gained mastery over the Earth’s oceans by turning the Earth Federation Forces’ submarines against them. Zeon forces converted the EFF’s Juneau class subs into the Jukon class, which itself featured several configurations. The refit versions had a longer, sleeker profile than the original Jukon subs. In December UC 0079, the U-99 transported Zeon’s Cyclops team for an assault on an EFF research base in the Arctic. In October UC 0083, the U-801 used by Zeon remnants transported Anavel Gato from Australia to Africa after he successfully stole the prototype RX-78GP02A Gundam GP02A Physalis from the Torrington Base.
