The M61A5 Tank Type 5 was an upgraded version of the Earth Federation Forces’ Type 61 Tank. The M61A5 used a pair of 155mm cannons instead of the original’s 150mm. These cannons could utilize multiple types of ammunition rounds. The M61A5 was also armed with M-60 and M-299 anti-personnel machine guns, and it also featured smoke dischargers. One M61A5 unit used by Herman Yandell in Europe was further customized by the addition of side skirt armor. Yandell’s unit was destroyed in combat against a custom colored MS-06J Zaku II.
