The 侍ノ弐 Sengoku Astray Gundam was a custom Gunpla built by Nils Nielsen. It was based on the MBF-P02 Gundam Astray Red Frame from the 2002-03 manga series Mobile Suit Gundam SEED ASTRAY. Known as the “early genius” for having earned multiple doctorates at a young age, Nils represented America in the 7th Gunpla Battle World Championship as part of his quest to learn the secrets of the Plavsky particle. Nils customized the Red Frame with his Japanese aesthetic, which extended to the naming of its armaments. The suit’s pair of samurai swords were covered in a special coating that allowed them to cut through beams. The Sengoku Astray could also perform a special attack called the Particle Fa Jin that used Plavsky particles to destroy an opponent’s Gunpla from within. For the race portion of the tournament, Nils utilized a replica of the mobile horse Fuunsaiki from the anime Mobile Fighter G Gundam. Nils ultimately lost a battle against Sei Iori and Reiji’s GAT-X105B/ST Star Build Strike Gundam, and he later joined in the effort to contain the Arista crystal in the PPSE stadium. Nils later built another Japanese-inspired Gunpla, the 忍ノ参 Ninpulse Gundam.
