The Tyson was a space debris collection ship used by the Republic of Zeon. A large suction unit mounted on the ship’s bow had the function of a vacuum cleaner that sucked in debris from the surrounding area. The collected debris was then crushed and collected in a pod in the ship’s aft section. Large arms mounted on the sides of the ship were used to hold large debris or to hold the ship in a specific place. The Tyson was used in UC 0077 to help clean up debris after a Salamis class cruiser crashed into a colony at Side 3.
