During the pursuit of three stolen Gundams, one of Romefeller’s XXXG-01SRL Gundam Sandleon units was badly damaged and forced to return to base. In order to continue the chase and recover the stolen machines, the Sandleon was repaired with technology from previously scrapped mobile suits. In particular, the Sandleon was upgraded with parts from the destroyed OZ-10VMSX Gundam Aesculapius, one of the G-UNITs that participated in the conflict at colony MO-V. These additions included Aesculapius’ leg-mounted propellant tanks and its shoulder armor, capable of transforming into close combat claws mounted with beam vulcans. After the repair was complete, the newly re-christened XXXG-01SRL2 Gundam Sandleon Custom was sent back into battle to retrieve the three Gundams.
